#9. Montauk Spring
Montauk Spring is one those springs where it's acceptable to add an "s" onto the end of spring. That's because it has multiple outlets. With an outflow of 53 million gallons of water a day, this spring is stocked with trout and is a Missouri State Park. The spring is also considered the headwaters for the Current River. A 2-1/2 story grist mill utilized the power of the rushing spring water between it's construction in 1896 until the Missouri State Park system purchased the property in 1927.
