Lower Rock Creek

Lower Rock Creek winds through the St. Francois Mountains before flowing into the St. Francis River. The trail is 5.4 miles and is unmarked. Despite being unmarked, the first 1.2 miles of the trail are relatively easy to follow, as this section only winds through the woods before approaching the creek. After this, the trail is very difficult to hike. There are two backpacking campsites, the first is below a large bluff and the second is located under Cathedral Canyon. The "parking lot" at the trailhead can also be used as a primitive campsite.
