Johnson Shut-Ins State Park

Johnson Shut-Ins is located within close proximity to Taum Sauk Mountain State Park. Click here to learn more about what a shut-in is and to see a map of 90 of the 100+ shut-ins in Missouri. Trail Systems: Shut-Ins Loop - 2.4 miles. Easiest acces to the shut-ins. First section of the trail is paved and features a wooden walkway. Scour Trail - 2.0 miles. Also links up with Ozark Trail. This trail takes you to a lookout where you can see where the Upper Taum Sauk reservoir broke open and dumped 1.5 billion gallons of water down the mountainside. Horseshoe Glade Trail - 1.7 miles. Goggins Mountain Trail - 10.1 miles Shut-Ins Campground Trail System - 1.7 miles Black River Trail System - 4.5 miles Camping and Recreation: 28 Walk-In campsites, 21 electric sites, 19 electric, water, sewer sites, 9 electric, water equestrian sites. Firewood, dump station, showers, water, and laundry available. A campground store is also available. State Park Website
