Sinkholes
This page will likely remain fairly empty as most sinkholes aren't very interesting. Missouri is said to be home to over 16,000 sinkholes, but that number is likely larger due to ones that haven't been reported to the Department of Natural Resources. The largest sinkhole in Missouri spans over 700 acres near Columbia and drains into the Missouri River. The deepest sinkhole in Missouri is Slaughter Sink, seen below.
Slaughter Sink is one of the deepest sinkholes in Missouri at 175 feet deep. It feeds Boiling Spring, Missouri's 14th largest spring, along with conical sink, another deep sinkhole nearby.

The Gulf, also known as Blue Hole, is a huge sinkhole filled with water. It is 50ft deep but the cave system goes down over 200ft deep.
