Little Rock Creek Shut-In

This shut-in is extra special, despite it's close proximity to Highway E. The two lane highway runs parallel to the shut-in, but all noise associated with vehicular traffic is drowned out by the sounds of roaring water. The water falls over many ledges that create waterfalls and then slowly slides over a large outcropping of bedrock that includes smaller ledges that give the shut-in a unique appearance. A large pinnacle-esque bluff rises over the northern edge of the creek on the southern base of Black Mountain. The creek then meanders through private property before reaching the St. Francis River. The bulk of the shut-in is located on National Forest property.
