Bluffs

Missouri is home to thousands and thousands of bluffs along its many rivers and streams. It is impossible to account for all of them on this page so I have only included significant bluffs, including ones I've visited. I have divided them up into three categories: Limestone/Dolomite Bluffs, Sandstone Bluffs, and Igneous (volcanic) Bluffs. This page will be updated if I feel a bluff I have recently visited should be included.
Limestone/Dolomite: Vilander Bluff, tallest on Meramec River Trail does not lead to the bluff.
Limestone/Dolomite: Brawly Bluff Boomhole Access on the Eleven Point River
Sandstone: One of the dozens of bluffs at Hickory Canyons More info here.
Sandstone: One of dozens of bluffs near the Don Robinson State Park area More info here.
Igneous: Lee Bluff
Igneous: Johnson Shut-Ins More info here.
Igneous: Royal Gorge More info here. This gorge was unfortunately destroyed by MoDOT very recently to widen Highway 21 by 6 feet.
Igneous: Unnamed bluff on St. Francis River
Igneous: Claybaugh Creek Bluffs
Limestone/Dolomite: Echo Bluff State Park More info here.
Limestone/Dolomite: Ha Ha Tonka Bluff More info here.
